The second match against Ireland saw Canada get their first win of the tournament. Canada were put in to bat and scored 137/7 after Kirton hit 49. The bowlers, led by Jeremy Gordon (2/16) and Dillon Heyliger (2/18), helped Canada win by 12 runs in the end.

However, the Canadians got a reality check in their third match of the group stage against Pakistan. Canada were restricted to 106/7 after batting first, and Pakistan in their reply scored 63 runs for the second wicket with Mohammad Rizwan (53) and Babar Azam (33) scoring 63 runs for the second wicket to win by seven wickets.
